
EDWARD MCPHERSON

BIOGRAPHY
Edward McPherson took his first ballet class in 9th grade at the Lisa Applegate Dance Studio in Davis, CA. He continued his training at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding arts high school. Continuing into college, Edward attended the exclusive ballet program at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music.

At 19 Edward left college to accept a full-time position at Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT. His performance career included engagements with the Sacramento Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theater, Ballet Montana, Oakland Ballet, and Ballet Austin.
​
A steward of the art form, Edward developed a pedagogical foundation and provided instruction to students at Saint Mary's Hall, the Waterford School, Palo Alto College, the Experimental College at University of California Davis, and the Corpus Christi Concert Ballet. He also enjoyed providing coaching for dancers at Ballet San Antonio.

Edward retired from dance in 2011, and is currently an administrator at the Midland County Public Libraries.
